Synopsis
Chapatti – Romance is a distant memory for two lonely animal-lovers living in Dublin. When forlorn Dan and his dog Chapatti cross paths with the amiable Betty and her nineteen cats, an unexpected spark begins a warm and gentle story about two people re-discovering the importance of human companionship.
Please note the play will be performed without an intermission and contains or references sensitive issues. “Chapatti was originally produced on stage by Northlight Theatre, Chicago, Illinois; BJ Jones, Artistic Director, Timothy J Evans, Executive Director and premiered on 7th March 2014 in a co-production with Galway Arts Festival.

About The Group
Palace Players, based in Kilworth Co Cork, have been contesting festivals up and down the country since 1989. In 2015 Palace won the All-Ireland in Athlone with Tom Murphy’s ‘Conversations On A Homecoming’. In 2017, Palace took Malachy McKenna’s ‘The Quiet Land’, to All-Ireland One Act success. ‘Where Is This Malabar’, penned by the group’s founder, Liam Howard won the One Act Play Writing competition in 2018. Palace Players were back on the Full length Circuit for 2020 and thrilled to continue that journey with Christian O’Reilly’s ‘Chapatti’ this year. It is indeed an honour and a privilege to be back on The Dean Crowe stage.
